The college have separate science lab, psychology lab, Educational Technology lab, Music room, sports room, supw room, computer lab and a spacious play ground. Our technology lab is furnished with equipments like OHP, Multimedia LCD Projector etc. There is well equipped library with books, of which 4802 are on education. There are 10 professional journals. Students are permitted to use the library and borrow books on all working days. We have sufficient journals and periodicals .
Equipments, Chemicals and materials needed to demonstrate and perform experiments in Physics, Chemistry and Biology Syllabi at Secondary and higher Secondary level available in the Science Lab. Various inventories, verbal and non-verbal tests, Thematic appreciation test, Passalong Test, Kundu’s neurotic personality inventory, Rorschach Ink blot test, Weichsler’s adult intelligence performance scale, Tachitoscope, Mirror drawing apparatus, Creativity tests,Teaching aptitude test are available
University College of Teacher Education, Thottakad under the direct control of the School of Pedagogical Sciences,Mahatma Gandhi University started functioning in 1994. Admission to the B.Ed course at this College is made purely on the basis of merit, norms of community reservation and nativity weightage.
The University College of Teacher Education Thottakad is located in the part of Thottakad village.The college is now functioning in a rented building situated at Thottakkad junction. As directed by the NCTE the required area of the land is 65 cents and now the university has purchased 68.5cents of land with survey No.176/2/1 ,176/2/3 at Champakkara for the construction of a modern full-fledged building for the University College of Teacher Education.
